Where Flamingos Fly
Pink Flamingos Always Fascinated Me...
Hello 2018! I am thrilled to start this year off on the right foot -- feeling the most confident in my own skin than I've ever been, being happy and healthy (and totally in love), having a lot of fun projects in the works, and with lots of hope for the future. I am also thrilled to reveal my new blog! So welcome to my dollhouse, where I'll be sharing my love for vintage fashion, beauty tips & tricks, and my take on the modern-retro lifestyle.
This photoshoot was the most fun I have had in quite some time, and I just knew that this would be my first blog post. I recently had the chance to work with Spike Marble, of the 'hulabilly' band The Hula Girls, who is also a wonderful photographer. When he suggested our first shoot together include a giant flock of lawn flamingos, I was surprised but completely on board, and am over the moon with how they turned out. These images represent how I wish my entire life looked -- perfectly primped in a retro, pink dream.
This velvet wrap blouse by Vixen by Micheline Pitt is one of my favorite clothing pieces that I currently own (I also have it in black). Not only is it super comfortable and easy to wear, but it is figure-flattering and accentuates all the right places -- what girl doesn't want their waist to look smaller and their chest to look bigger? If you've seen me out & about in the last two weeks, you've probably caught me wearing one of these tops more than once...I just don't want to wear anything else! I paired the top with these high-waisted white trousers from BCBG Max Azria (which are now on super sale!!) and these awesome, giant hoop earrings from Pinup in a Pack for a ready-for-spring look. I linked everything here at the bottom of this post so you can steal my look!
